Organize your jewelry catalog using categories and collections for easy navigation and reporting.

Product Categories

Product Categories provide the primary organizational structure for your catalog.

Managing Categories

Navigate to Catalog > Product Categories.

Creating a Category

  • Name — Category name (e.g., "Rings", "Necklaces", "Watches")
  • Slug — URL-friendly identifier (auto-generated from name)
  • Description — Optional description of the category
  • Parent Category — For hierarchical organization (e.g., "Engagement Rings" under "Rings")
  • Sort Order — Display order in lists
  • Is Active — Toggle to show/hide category

Using Categories

  • Products are linked to categories via the category_id field
  • Categories appear as filter options in the product list and POS
  • The POS system uses categories for quick product browsing

Product Collections

Collections allow you to group products across categories for marketing, seasonal, or thematic purposes.

Managing Collections

Navigate to Catalog > Product Collections.

Creating a Collection

  • Name — Collection name (e.g., "Spring 2025", "Valentine's Special")
  • Slug — URL-friendly identifier
  • Description — Collection description
  • Is Active — Toggle visibility

Example Collections

  • Bridal Collection — Engagement rings and wedding bands
  • Summer 2025 — Seasonal highlights
  • Holiday Gift Guide — Curated gift items
  • Vintage & Estate — Pre-owned or vintage pieces
  • New Arrivals — Recently added products
